Who sits on the Presidential Elections Committee?
In the presidential elections, the Presidential Elections Committee holds great power in deciding whether a candidate is qualified to run for president. (see requirements f and h) of the qualifications required to stand as candidate for president. So who sits on the Presidential Elections Committee?
The Presidential Elections Committee, according to article 18 of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore, consists of
a) the chairman of the Public Service Commission
b) the chairman of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority
c) a member of the Presidential Council for Minority Rights nominated by the Chairman of the Council.
And these are the key players who will decide whether it is going to be another walkover for the coming presidential elections.
