In the course of Kannan’s legal experience, he has been exposed to various areas of community law, including criminal proceedings, personal injury claims, probate and inheritance matters, adoption, matrimonial and family law.

Kannan is a firm believer in justice for the everyday man/woman.

In particular, Kannan has a keen interest in family law practice. He has represented individuals from all walks of life, across a range of family law issues including divorce, maintenance for children and wives, protection orders, guardianship applications, children’s custody, Syariah Divorce, cross-border family disputes, and multinational marriages. Kannan places emphasis in collaborative dispute resolution, especially when children are involved. He has successfully negotiated fair and workable divorce settlements for his clients. However, when push comes to shove, Kannan has also successfully argued and resolved contentious ancillary proceedings dealing with division of matrimonial property and children’s custody and maintenance issues.
