Michael started the firm of Michael Por Law Corporation in 2011 (www.mplawcorp.com.sg), a boutique practice specialising in dispute resolution work as well as general corporate matters. Prior to that he was the Managing Partner in another medium-sized firm.

The primary focus of Michael’s dispute resolution practice is in building and construction litigation/arbitration. He is also an Adjudicator appointed by SMC for SOPA cases who has published many Adjudication Determinations. In the course of his practice, Michael has appeared before all levels of the Singapore Judiciary, including but not limited to the Court of Appeal, where there have been reported decisions of the cases he had been involved in, while in relation to arbitration, he had acted for clients in arbitral proceedings under the ICC, SIAC and SIA regimes respectively.

In his corporate practice, he has acted for a whole range of clients, both local and foreign parties, institutional clients, quasi-government entities, statutory boards, public-listed corporations, in a whole myriad of corporate and commercial matters, such as Mergers & Acquisitions, structuring joint ventures or advising on different types of investments, drafting of a whole gamut of commercial contracts from Sale and Purchase Agreements to Shareholders Agreements to Management or Consultancy Agreements to Leases etc. Michael is also an Adjudicator appointed by FIDReC to adjudicate on disputes involving financial institutions in Singapore.
