Civil Litigation
I am well-versed in all aspects of civil law in Singapore and is ideally positioned to help and assist you with all of your civil litigation matters. I have represented many clients successfully in matters like defamation, recovering debts owed, contract disputes, contested probate/letters of administration matters, persona injury claims, landlord and tenant disputes, fraud and disputes in sale of goods. Please get in touch to discuss your unique situation and I will be able to advise you on any potential next steps. Initial consultations are usually free.
EMPLOYMENT LAW:
Employment law is a broad area, and my firm, IRB Law are experts across this field of law, acting for both employers and employees. I have experience in handling common issues such as unfair dismissal, non-payment of correct salary, discrimination, non-compete clauses, breach of contract, and much more. Please get in touch to discuss your particular situation and I will be able to advise you of your potential options, recommended next steps, and potential fees involved.
PERSONAL INJURY:
Personal injury law covers a wide range of situations where a physical injury has occurred due to someone else’s carelessness, negligence or physical attack. It could have occurred in various locations, including the road, workplace, or a public area such as the MRT or a shopping mall. Personal injury law also covers fatal accidents, medical negligence, and injuries that may have been caused by animals or consumer products. When it comes to claiming for personal injury, it is important that you claim within 3 years from the date of the accident. I offer a free, no obligation consultation to learn about your situation. I will advise you on the merits of your case, the potential compensation amount, and estimated fees that may be involved.
Note: Many people delay in seeking professional advice or attempt to work on settlements with insurers directly. This can be a timely and complicated process where you are unlikely to get the best result. Please take advantage of my free consultation to get some professional advice before you decide on what route to take.
INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION:
My firm’s lawyers and myself have won praises from our clients in offering practical and efficient solutions to their disputes. Our broad experience in international arbitrations ranges from matters relating to the supply of sapphire ingots used in the manufacture of smartphone components; the construction of the first major road and tunnel highway construction project in Romania, subway tunnelling works; construction of a hydroelectric power dam; a mountain road project in Kashmir, India; the development of various major commercial projects in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia; to disputes arising from the largest integrated resorts in Singapore.
Personal & Family
DIVORCE:
Please get in touch with me so that I can understand your issues and advise you on the best steps moving forward for your divorce. I especially advocate for simplified uncontested divorces, as these give you more control over the outcome of your divorce, are more affordable and place less stress on all parties involved (especially your children).
ADOPTION:
Adoption is a legal process whereby parental rights over a child are conferred to the applicants. Once adoption is complete the parental ties to the original parents are severed. The adopters become the parents and take on all parental rights, duties, obligations and liabilities in relation to the child. Married spouses may jointly apply for adoption of a child. Child adoption in Singapore is primarily regulated by the Adoption of Children Act (ACA). I provide guidance and assistance on the eligibility of adoptive parents, procedural elements involved in adoption, legal implications, and other related adoption services.
PROBATE AND LETTERS OF ADMINISTRATION:
If your loved one has passed away, I am able to assist you with obtaining a Grant of Probate or Grant of Letters of Administration so their assets can be distributed promptly. We are able to explain the process of applying for these Grants, and there will be no hidden charges. I am able to apply for an Inheritance Certificate as well as an application for letters of administration for deceased Muslims.
LASTING POWER OF ATTORNEY:
It is common to think about the loss of mental capacity in the form of the gradual deterioration of our mental functions as a result of old age. The reality is, the real problems arise when one loses mental capacity suddenly, such as in a motor accident or illness. In such circumstances the inability to settle the affairs of the main or sole breadwinner for the family causes major problems. Beware of “will writing companies” or “estate planners” who are unregulated and are unqualified to advise you on legal issues. I am able to advise you to suit what is best for you.
WILLS:
Our estate lives on after our death, and it can either be a source of protection and benefit in accordance with our wishes, or it can be a source of dispute and unhappiness between family members. Ensure that your loved ones are taken care of in the way that YOU want. Don’t leave things to chance, consult me and get your will created. I can also assist you in all the relating legal issues surrounding an estate, such as powers of attorney, obtaining letters of administration/grants of probate, application for deputyship, etc.
DEED POLL:
Changing your name in Singapore is a relatively straightforward process via a legal document known as a deed poll. My firm has simplified this process by providing an online deed poll submission form. You simply complete this form, attend our offices to sign the document in the presence of a lawyer, and then submit the completed deed poll document to the ICA at Kallang, which is 6 minutes walk from my office.
PRE NUPTIAL AGREEMENT:
Prenuptial agreements are entered into by parties before marriage to set out how, if the marriage were eventually to be ended, the assets and/or children ought to be handled. Although not directly enforceable under Singapore law, the Court will take into account prenuptial agreements as evidence of parties’ intentions before they got married. Perhaps of more importance would be that a prenuptial agreement is also evidence to each other of their intentions. I am able to advise you on why and how you may wish to discuss a prenuptial agreement before a marriage.
Debt Recovery
Even if the amount you're owed is relatively small, this does not deter me if you have a good case for pursuing and recovering the debt. Please get in touch with me to understand our fixed fees for each stage of the debt recovery process.
I handle debt recovery cases for both personal debts and debts owed to companies/ businesses.

It was the scariest moment in my life. I did not know who to turn to. I was being investigated for 376B and placed on bail. I went to two law firms for help, but my first impressions of them was that they were either judgmental or couldn’t care less about my case. I then went to search for a law firm who has had better reviews in this site. I chanced upon Mr Baiross’s law firm and without hesitation I contacted him. He was very quick in his response. His team contacted me a few days later and arranged for an appointment. Throughout the 5 months, Mr Baiross and his team have worked hard and obliged my requests in the handling of my case. They also showed care and concern with regards to my circumstances, and advised me to not give up. He and his team never failed to give words of encouragement through whatsapp and call. After 5 grueling months, I was given a 12-month conditional warning by the Courts. This is largely thanks to the representation done by Mr Baiross and his team. Not only was he a lawyer, but he was a man of God as well. I truly recommend his law firm to those who are in a difficult legal situation.
Mr Baiross is an extremely competent lawyer. His advice is clear and straight to the point, which allowed me to resolve the situation that I was in.
Mr. Baiross gives no-nonsense advice that is practical and realistic. He taught me the tactics and right lingos to negotiate with a vendor without going through a litigation process, and I successfully got the refund that I asked for after just an email negotiation! I highly recommend him for any legal advice.
I cannot comment more on the professional and knowledgeable Mr. Baiross from IRB. He is the smartest solicitor I have came across so far, and please take me for my word, I have a very high standard when getting my legal advise fulfilled.
Kind and very gentlemen, unlike those low bono lawyers (as advertised) I have approached, quoting me their hourly rate more than big (mercenary) law firms. I would implore anyone who want a legal representative to look for Mr. Baiross. You will never regret with his wealth of knowledge to give you the best legal advise ever!
