Ashvin is the Managing Director of Ashvin Law Corporation with particular expertise in Criminal Defence, Family Law and Estate Planning.
Criminal Defence Practice
Ashvin has represented accused persons before the State Courts, High Court and Court of Appeal, in cases spanning a variety of offences, including drug trafficking, cheating, criminal breach of trust, rioting, sexual offences, money laundering, corruption and road traffic offences.
Ashvin also regularly represents military servicemen before Panel and General Court Martials, and is one of the guest trainers for the Basic Defending Officer Course.
Ashvin has also assisted numerous clients through investigations and interviews by the Singapore Police Force, Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation Office (US IRS-CI) and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
In Public Prosecutor v Sautha Letchumi d/o Supramaniam [2021] SGDC 106, Ashvin received commendation from the District Court for being “outstanding and hardworking” in the conduct of the defence of the accused.
Family Law Practice
Ashvin has acted for clients in a variety of Family Law matters including, contested and uncontested divorce proceedings. Ashvin also represented a client in Singapore’s very first case under the newly enacted Vulnerable Adults Act 2018.
Estate Planning Practice
Ashvin also regularly advises and assists clients with Wills, Probate, Letters of Administration, Lasting Power of Attorneys and Deputyship applications.
Non-Legal Qualifications
Besides being a lawyer, Ashvin holds the professional qualifications of Dive Master and Dive Control Specialist from Scuba Schools International (SSI).
